2 children from K’taka to be conferred with National Bravery Award 2020

Bengaluru: Two children from Karnataka will be presented with the National Bravery Award 2020 as announced by the Indian Council for Child Welfare’s (ICCW) on Tuesday.

Venkatesh, 11, from Raichur, is being presented with the award for showing exemplary bravery while literally paving the way for an ambulance which was stuck on a flooded bridge near Hirerayanakumpe village of Raichur district.

Arati Shet, 9, of Honavar is being given the award in recognition of her bravery to save the life of her 2-year-old sibling from a bull attack. A total of 22 children have been chosen for the award comprising of a citation and a medal

The award will be presented by President Ramnath Kovind at a function to be held at Rajpath on Republic Day.
