2 drug peddlers held in J&K

Jammu: Two suspected drug peddlers were arrested separately and cannabis, heroin and poppy were recovered from their possession in Jammu and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.
Acting on a specific information, police last evening apprehended a person in RS Pura border belt of Jammu and recovered one kg of poppy, one gram of heroin and 8 insulin syringes from his possession, they said.
In another incident, police during a routine naka checking at Bhalla area of Doda district, caught Asif Ahmed, who was carrying 700 grams cannabis. According to police, cases have been registered against both the accused at RS Pura and Bhaderwah police stations respectively.
