Mandya: A family dispute compelled three members of a family to attempt suicide by consuming insecticide at Srinivasapura Gate in the taluk on Tuesday April 10th. All the three who are seriously ill are receiving treatment at a hospital in Mysuru.

The three attempters have been identified as H K Ravikumar (55), his wife, Vijiyamma (50), and son, Rathan Gowda (35). The unwanted intervention by a JD(S) leader in the dispute which they deem as a purely family affair agitated the family members, claim sources.

Former MLA M Srinivas, and his supporters are responsible for the decision taken by him and his parents to end their lives, claims Rathan Gowda. M Srinivas and his supporters are solely responsible for the deaths of him and his parents states Rathan Gowda in a video uploaded in the Facebook account of his father. He further accuses him alleging that Srinivas and his followers acted like moral police and entered Rathan’s house and beat up his family.

Rathan urged the CM Siddaramiah to launch up another ‘Bhagya’ scheme to free free people from the clutches of JD(S) and put an end to the lawless activities of people like M. Srinivas. He said that he was a huge fan of Congress leader Ramya and sought her help to protect his family.

The dispute is believed to be relating to the Rathan’s marriage with Vidya from Anakere eight years ago.Till Tuesday night, no official complaint was registered relating to this incident.
