4 days of water in M’luru

Mangaluru: In the backdrop of the day-by-day depleting water level at Thumbay vented dam and in accordance to the water rationing rule which is currently in effect, water supply has been restarted for the next four days since May 9th morning.
As per the water rationing rule, pumping was stopped at Thumbay dam on Tuesday and Wednesday. Consequently, people in the city suffered the lack of water for two days. Those residing in elevated areas and the airlock in the pipelines cased inconvenience on Wednesday as well. Water will supplied for a period of 96 hours from 6am in the morning of May 9th to 6am of May 13th.
Illegal connections cut
The work on cutting illegal connections to the main water pipeline from Thumbay to Mangaluru was conducted on Wednesday as well. When officials conducted operation at Farangipet, they faced protest from the locals here.
