4 people arrested in Vitla firing on police case

Vitla/Bantwal: Four people involved in the firing on police at a border checkpost near Salturu Kodange were arrested by police on Monday from Budoli in Peraje village.

The arrested have been identified as Abdul Rahman (25), Rakesh Kishore Bhaviskar (27), Mohammed Fayaz (22) and Haider Ali (20).

The four were caught after a tip off that they are travelling to Bengaluru in a Maruti Alto.

A team led by PSI Vinod Reddy followed the car from Mani and managed to stop it at Budoli.

Three 7.65 mm pistols, one improvised rifle, thirteen live ammunition and the car they were travelling were seized by the police.

The arrested were later sentenced to 15 day judicial custody.
