ACB officials catch Village Accountant red-handed

Belthangady: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught a village accountant red-handed while taking a bribe. The ACB arrested Village Accountant Manjunath of Mithabagilu Belthangady and his assistant Ramesh on charges of taking bribe.
Incident background
Praddep Gowda Chowkibettu who is a resident of Mithabagilu village and is also a social activist had applied to the taluk office for transferring the documents of the land owned by his grandmother to his mother’s name. But the officials failed to respond to his application. When there was a inordinate delay for the procedures to be completed since the date of the application, Pradeep approached Manjunath and Ramesh who outrightly demanded a bribe. This made Pradeep approach the ACB.
The arrest
As per the instruction of ACB officials, Pradeep handed over Rs 3,000 to the accused when the ACB team caught the accused red-handed. They also seized the money and took the accused into custody.
The operation was led by ACB SP Uma Prashanth and ACP DySP Manjunath Kaouri, Circle Inspector Yogish Kumar, Mohan Kottari, Hariprasad, Umesh, Radhakrishna, Prashanth, Radhakrishna DA, Vaishali and driver Ganesh and Rakesh were part of the operation team.
