Achievement of a hotel cleaner boy

Pass SSLC with excellent marks

Bantwal: Yatish, working as a hotel cleaner has passed SSLC with excellent marks and this achievement of his, he was hounoured at hotel premises itself. Yatish is the son of Padmanabha and Hemavati couple, residents of Kuppila in B Mooda village and is a 10th std student of Deepika High School at Modankapu.

By scoring 590 marks during this times SSLC exams, he has attracted attention through his achievement. He has scored 95 in Kannada, 93 in English, 90 in Hindi, 94 in Science, 97 in Mathematics, 96 is Social Science and has also achieved the honour of coming first in the school.

Working during holidays

Extreme poverty at home, parents working as day wage workers and the house they live in is a more of hut. Therefore, during holidays he used to work as a cleaner at the hotel through which he earned money to pay for his clothes and books. By earning and paying for his education and achieving the highest score in the exams, he has become an example proving that one can get education if one has the will to achieve it.

Celebration in the hotel

In the backdrop of having passed SSLC with excellent marks and having become the topper, Yathish was honoured in a simple celebration held at the hotel on Wednesday evening by the hotel owner, BUDA president Sadashiva Bangera and Narayana Perne. Retired head master T Sheshappa Moolya, municipality member Hariprasad, former president of Kulala Sudharaka Association Satish Kulal and hotel staffs together appreciated the achievement of the student.

Encouragement is the reason

“Since my parents were day wage workers, I worked as a cleaner at the hotel at B C Road during school holiday to make money for further studies. Earlier too, I used to go for catering work during school holidays. I have not received any tuition and have studied only as much as my teachers have taught me. The encouragement of the teachers is the reason behind this achievement,” explains Yatish, SSLC achiever
