Anti CAA protests turn violent; two killed in police firing

Mangaluru: Two persons were killed in police firing in Mangaluru, after the protests against CAA and NRC took a violent turn in the city on Thursday, December 19.
The deceased are identified as Jaleel (49), a resident of Kudroli and Nausheen (23), a resident of Bengre.
As per sources, the police opened fire on protestors near Bunder area of Mangaluru. Though both the victims were rushed to a private hospital in the city, they were declared brought dead.
The city saw violent protests, with an incident of stone-pelting reported at a bus depot. About 14 policemen were also injured.
