New Delhi/Bengaluru: Karnataka’s plea to the Supreme Court to review the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu has been rejected in an order passed on Friday.
Karnataka had filed a review against three orders of the Apex Court including constitution of a Cauvery Water Management Board and the release of 6,000 cusecs of water till October 6.
Karnataka had said that release of water would cause ‘irreparable injury’ to the state as water could not be retrieved if there was a normal North-East monsoon.
