Assault against police constables at Urva station: Two people detained

Mangaluru: Two out of three persons who are accused of misbehaving and trying to assault women constable in Urwa police station have been taken into custody.
In the month of may two cases were filed at Urwa police station against issues with maintenance charges and water connection in an apartment. Following the discussion between the apartment association, the water connection was resumed and cases were withdrawn.
However, regarding the withdrawal of cases Noel Sequiera, John Sequeira and their daughter had come to the police station and misbehaved with the police personnel and tried to record a conversation with the inspector while in his chamber. .
Speaking with this regard Police commissioner, N Shashi Kumar said, “Noel Sequiera, John Sequeira and their daughter during their visit to Urwa police station misbehaved with the police personnel and tried to record a conversation with the inspector while in his chamber. Upon questioning the family behaved rudely with the women constable and other staff of the police station.”
“Two of them have been detained for an enquiry and there is also a video proof of the trio misbehaving with the staff,” he added.
A case has been registered under sections 354, 353 of IPC against the accused.
