Udupi/Mangaluru: The last chance has been given to Ration Card holders to complete e-KYC through a portability facility at any Fair Price Shop. The date for completing e-KYC has been extended to June 30, Food and Civil Supplies Department has said.

It is mandatory for all members of the household to complete the e-KYC. Earlier e_KYC could be done only at the Fair Price Shop where the Ration Card was registered. Now, family members of the ration card who have not yet completed e-KYC (Aadhaar-authenticated e-KYC) can do so at any fair price shop in the state.

It is mandatory for all members of the family to be registered to register through e-KYC, failing which the names of the persons will be deleted from the ration cards, the Food and Civil Supplies Department’s deputy director said.

Moreover, households belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Tribes should submit a valid caste certificate, whereas Households with gas connections should submit details of the gas connection and register their mobile numbers at the fair price shops.
