Balmandira Observation Home: Four inmates missing

Bondel: Reportedly, four inmates of the Balmandira Observation Home in Bondel have gone missing and the police have returned empty-handed from their search for the missing inmates.
The missing inmates are Krishna, Harry and Mallesh (16) and Siddu (17) all from various parts of Kodagu. All the missing inmates were brought from an observation home in Madikeri to the observation home at Bondel on May 13th.
According to the police, the inmates had left the observation home compound on May 18th and have since been missing. Their absence came to light the following day post which a case was registered at Kavoor Police station.
As per sources, the observation home currently has 12 inmates and 15 staffs to look after them and yet, 7-8 inmates managed to run away from the home. The police had earlier advised the officials to strengthen security around the premises, but was not implemented. There is only a single security guard and it is not possible for him to guard the entire premises, informs the source.
