Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah on Friday dared the state government to ban SDPI, AIMIM, RSS and Bajrang Dal stating that Congress will not object.
Speaking to reporters at the airport here, Siddaramaiah said that the government must ban outfits like SDPI, RSS, and AIMIM as they create communal unrest. “If the government has guts let the ban these organisations. Congress won’t object,” he said.
Further, he lashed out at home minister Araga Jnanendra for making irresponsible statements. The home minister must quit if he cannot give responsible statements, he added.
Reacting to Revenue Minister R Ashoka’s allegation that Congress worker was among those instigating the mobs during the Hubballi violence, Siddaramaiah questioned if the former was an eyewitness to the violence. Is he an eyewitness to blame Congress for the violence?, he asked.
On the arrest of a cleric in connection with the violence, the Congress leader said that we must not view all clerics with suspicion due to a mistake committed by one person. Condemning the violence that erupted in Hubballi, Siddaramaiah said that action must be taken against all those who are guilty and innocent persons must not be targeted.
