Bantwal: ‘Online friend’ rapes minor, flees abroad

Bantwal: Bantwal rural station police have registered a POSCO case against a man for allegedly impregnating a minor on false promise of marriage.

The accused identified as Masuk, a resident of Uppinangady has already moved out of the country, police informed.

The incident came to light on September 1 when the victim was admitted into a private hospital at B C Road after she complained of stomach ache.

Based on her statement, the police registered a case against Masuk on September 5.

The girl, in her statement said that she became acquainted with Masuk over Instagram about a year back. The accused had come to visit her when no one was at home and developed a physical relationship after promising to marry her.
