Bantwal: Task force stops witchcraft attempt; faces attack

Punjalkatte: A task force that had gone to stop a witchcraft attempt was attacked by the family performing it on Sunday, May 10 at Abyanta in Kukkipadi village, Bantwal taluk.

The local ASHA worker on learning of such a session and the presence of a large number of people there reported it to the village task force and the gram panchayat president Yogesh Acharya.

The witchcraft performer Vishwanath Achar’s son attempted to attack Yogesh Acharya and later Vishwanath’s wife too threatened the panchayat president.

Yogesh registered a complaint at the Punjalakatte police station. Police later arrived at the spot and detained Vishwanath.
