Bantwal: A well in Narikombu village here has gone missing. Yes, you heard it right.
The Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) of Narikombu Village, Shivagondappa Birader, has reportedly registered a complaint at the Bantwal Town Police station about the “missing” well.
The well in question was reportedly dug using Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) funds in the year 2012-13.
The complaint alleges that a person named Dayananda Poojary of Nelyadka has not only closed the well without authorization but also grabbed the land the well was situated.
The PDO sought legal action against Poojary for illegally closing the well and causing loss to the government.
