
Belagavi: Outrage outpours as stone pelted, black ink thrown at Maha registered vehicles

Belagavi: Tensions boiled over as Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists were seen proceeding toward the city to hold a large-scale meeting in Belagavi. Outrage over the border dispute outpoured as stones were pelted at more than 6 Maharashtra registered lorries plying on National Highway 4.
Activists pelted stones on a Maharashtra-registered vehicle that was heading from Pune toward Bengaluru damaging its front glass panes.
Angry activists also smeared black ink on the Maharashtra registration plate. Some refused to use Maharashtra-registered vehicles.
As a large number of activists of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike marched towards Belagavi, police tightened security arrangements in the district bordering Maharashtra.
