Belthangady: A young man from Ujire who along with his friends was visiting a waterfall at Bangara Palke in the forest near Malavantige village in the taluk here was buried after a landfall.
Four youth were on a visit to the waterfall and were standing on its edge when the landfall occurred.
Three of them were trapped under the mud. Two of them have been rescued and a third youth is still missing.
As the waterfall is located in deep forest and away from any reachable human habitation, nearby villagers, recently, had appealed the local administration to ban entry to the waterfall.
Officials and locals have now reached the spot and rescue operations are ongoing.
