Bengaluru: 4 held for issuing fake educational certificates

Bengaluru: With the arrest of 4 men, the city police claimed to have busted a racket in connection with the issuance of fake certificates here on Sunday.
The accused have been identified as Rakesh, K Krishna, Haider Ali, and Tanam Debroy. The accused Rakesh and Krishna used to run Dream Education Services in Kempapura and offered different courses.
The arrests were made based on the complaint filed by a social worker who alleged that they were selling fake certificates at a fixed price.
They charged Rs 20,000 for the class X mark sheet, Rs 25,000 for the class 12 mark sheet, and Rs 40,000 for a degree certificate.
Police have seized 58 marks cards from their possession including mark sheets of Kalinga University (Chhattisgarh), Pondicherry University (Puducherry), Sikkim State University (Sikkim), IEC University (Himachal Pradesh), Chaudhary Charan Singh University (Uttar Pradesh).
Cops also suspect that these marksheets were issued from the boards and varsities themselves.
