Bengaluru: BJP leader on bike falls into ditch dug up for road widening; dies

Bengaluru: A BJP leader succumbed to his injuries after he fell into a ditch that was dug in the process to uproot trees and translocate them for a road-widening project in Bengaluru’s Anekal.

The accident occurred on Anekal-Hosur Road at 10.30 pm when Madesh, a resident of Submangala, was returning home after visiting his daughter in a nearby village.

It is said that he was not wearing a helmet, he failed to notice the pit and fell into it. He was severely injured and eventually succumbed to his injuries.

A case has been registered against an engineer and road contractor. Earlier, a 75-year-old man allegedly died after his scooter hit a pothole in Bengaluru.
