Bengaluru: Drugs worth more than Rs 25 lakhs have seized from the flat of tattoo artists in Chandapura recently. During interrogation, it has come to light they wanted to make it big just like Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar.

Police had arrested Vishnupriya (37) and Sigil Varghese (35) on November 15 on charges of selling drugs. The CCB police said they recovered 100 grams of MDMA crystals, 150 grams of LSD strips, 25 MDMA tablets, a diary with details of drugs dealt, and a photo of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.

The live-in partners peddled drugs from their shared apartment. They considered Pablo Escobar as their role model and dreamt of becoming druglords, police sources said.

Varghese and Vishnupriya ran their narcotics business on the Russian treasure hunt model. They hid the drugs in public places and sent the location details to customers once the payment was made online. This way they remained virtually faceless.

Both were earlier arrested by Hulimavu police on drug charges and continued their illegal trade racket after being released from jail, police sources added.
