Bengaluru: Four arrested for helping Omicron patient leave India

Bengaluru: Bengaluru police have arrested four people for allegedly helping a South African national, who was later confirmed as India’s first Omicron patient, leave the country using a fake COVID-19 test report.
The arrested include two employees of a Bengaluru-based private lab and two employees of a company, where the South African national is a director.
The 66-year-old man had tested positive on November 20 and was supposed to stay under quarantine, but apparently left on November 27 by showing the fake negative test report.
Further investigations are underway.
