Bengaluru: A human skeleton was found by the personnel of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike while clearing a drain at Kamakshipalya here.

The supervising engineers immediately reported it to the police who sent it for forensic examination.

A case was registered at the Vijayanagar police station.

As per the preliminary report, the skeleton appears to be of an adult male.

Police officials said that along with the skeleton, mud samples were also sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory. Adding that the dead body could have been dumped in the drain when it was being built or it might have been washed away by rains.
