Bengaluru: Kengeri police have arrested a man who stole parked auto-rickshaws here in the city.
Police said a resident of JJ Nagar has been arrested and six auto rickshaws worth around Rs 15 lakhs were seized from his possession.
Police said the motive was just the fun of riding an autorickshaw. The man was fond of riding auto rickshaws. To fulfill his fantasy, the man stole auto-rickshaws parked in front of the houses and would take a jolly ride all over the city. When the fuel ran out, he would abandon the vehicles and search for a new target.
The crime came to light when the man stole a rickshaw in Kengeri Police station limits recently. During the investigation of the case, the culprit behind the act was caught on a CCTV camera installed near the crime scene. Based on the evidence the accused was traced and arrested, police added.
