Bengaluru: Three people arrested for selling demonetized currency

Bengaluru: The city police arrested three people for selling demonetized currency and offering commissions to the buyers.
The arrested are identified as Kiran Kumar (32), resident of Magadi Road, B R Praveen Kumar from Manasa Nagar, and Pavan Kumar from Kalasipalyam.
The police after learning about them carried an operation and arrested them while they were waiting for customers with Rs 1,000 demonetized currency at an apartment in Jalahalli, North Bengaluru.
The police have seized old notes worth Rs 30 lakh from the trio.
The arrested have been booked under cheating and the Specified Bank Notes (Cessation of Liabilities) Act.
