Bengaluru: Three police officers force man to smoke ganja, book false case; suspended

Bengaluru: Three police officers, including a female officer, were suspended on charges of booking a false case against a man in Bengaluru following an internal inquiry.
RMC yard police inspector Parvathamma, sub-inspector Anjinappa, and another police personnel have been suspended.
They had demanded a bribe from a street vendor and he allegedly refused to pay, following which they forced him to smoke ganja and booked a ganja consumption case. The man had attempted suicide over the incident.
After the allegations, an internal inquiry was ordered, sub-inspector Anjinappa had also tried to fix the deputy commissioner of police conducting an inquiry in the case through a sting operation. But was eventually caught.
The three have now been suspended from service.
