Bengaluru: Two gold snatchers held; gold, 3 two-wheelers recovered

Bengaluru: Two gold snatchers, who allegedly targeted elderly ladies in the early morning hours across Bengaluru, were arrested.
The accused have been identified as Ibrahim Pasha, 32, a resident of Padarayanapura, and Azar Pasha, 29, a resident of Shivajinagar. The police recovered Rs 12.5 lakh worth of 223 grams of stolen gold jewellery and a stolen motorcycle.
Renuka P and Geetha Tatti, women sub-inspectors at the Malleswaram police station, were on patrol duty at 8th Cross around 7.30 am on Thursday when the duo on a bike tried to flee a police nakabandi, raising suspicion.
The police gave chase and apprehended them. When questioned, the two men allegedly confessed to snatching chains.
DCP (North Division) Dharmender Kumar Meena appreciated the work of police sub-inspectors Geeta and Renuka, along with the Malleshwaram police station in catching the accused.
