Bengaluru: A woman has been arrested by Annapoorneshwari Nagar police in a case of a honey trap.

The woman, named Vidya, allegedly demanded Rs 1 crore from civil contractor Lohith (38) for not exposing their intimate pictures and videos.

The contractor lodged a complaint at the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station on October 6.

Sources said that four months ago, two women had approached the contractor with a herbal product for weight loss and shared the number if he was interested to know more about it. Curious to know more, the victim called a phone number, which was answered by the accused. Later, the contractor decided to try the products.

However, the conversations did not end there. Within a few weeks, they became “close friends” and vacationed at a resort.

A woman holding a key position in a national party has been arrested by the police in a case of a honey trap.

The complaint alleges that the contractor and his friends left the woman at the resort after she quarreled with the staff under the influence of drugs.

Things took a turn for the worse on September 29,  the woman called the contractor up and threatened to leak his “intimate photographs” clicked at the resort and demanded Rs 1 crore for keeping quiet.

In early October, two men accosted the contractor and handed him a pen drive containing the photographs. Later, she even threatened to file a false complaint that he had got intimate with her by promising to marry her.

Fed up with the constant threats, the contractor then lodged a police complaint.

The contractor has claimed that the woman had cheated many people in this way. But the police said that they have not received any other complaint against the woman.

Further investigations are underway.
