Bengaluru: Woman seeking to return dress bought online loses Rs 1.36L

A woman who sought to return a dress she bought online for Rs 599 ended up losing Rs 1.36 lac to a caller claiming to be a customer care representative of the company.
The victim, Mamatha Kumar, a resident of Nagarabhavi lodged a complaint at CEN west police station.
In her complaint, she claimed that she had ordered a dress online by opting for the cash-on-delivery mode. However, when she did not like the dress after receiving the order she checked online on the procedure to return it. Shortly later she got a call from a person who identified himself as a customer care representative of the company and asked for her bank details for making the refund following the return.
After procuring all details from Mamtha an amount of Rs 1, 36,082 was transferred from her account, she alleged. Police are investigating the matter
