Bengaluru: A nation-wide bandh, called by the Congress party, to protest against rising fuel prices on September 10 is likely to evoke a good response in the state where the party is a coalition partner with Janata Dal (S).
Apart from several opposition parties, the trade unions of the transport corporations BMTC and KSRTC and cab drivers unions, including Ola and Uber too have extended their support for the bandh. In addition, nearly 1.5 lakh autos will also stay away from the road. However Namma Metro and train services will continue to operate as usual.
Protest rallies will be staged in the city as well as other parts of the state against the spiralling fuel prices, which in turn directly impacts a common citizen.
