#BharatBandh: Schools, colleges to remain open, says Edu Min

Bengaluru: Amid call for Bharat Bandh Education Minister Suresh Kumar on Tuesday, January 7 said that there won’t be holidays for schools and colleges on Wednesday, January 8.
Addressing pressperson Suresh Kumar said that the decision has been taken as exams are approaching.
“Security personnel will be deployed near schools, colleges to prevent any untoward incident,” said the minister.
Trade unions INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF, UTUC along with various sectoral independent federations and associations had adopted a declaration in September last to go on a nationwide strike on January 8, 2020.
