Bike hits lorry, pillion rider dies

Malpe:  A bike crashed into the rear of a stone laden truck idling in the centre of the road resulting in the death of the pillion rider at Gujjarabettu at night 9pm on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Naseer (61) from Gujjarabettu.

Naseer, professionally a cook and was on his way to Hude  Masjid along with his son. Trucks stop in the middle of the road near Gujjarabettu weighing bridge without any signage or parking lights. To prevent the collision, bike was abruptly turned to the right side; Naseer who was sitting pillion hit his head to the rear of the parked lorry and incurred severe head injury.

Naseer was immediately rushed to the hospital but in vain. A case has been registered at MAlpe Police station.
