Bill tabled to regularise illegal houses

Belagavi: The Legislative Assembly on Monday set a bill to regularize on unauthorized houses on Government land.
The Karnataka Land Revenue (Third Amendment) Bill, 2017, proposed to regularise houses constructed on government land in unrecorded habitations like Lambani tanda, Gollarahatti, Vaddarahatti, Kurubarahatti, Nayakarahatti, Majare grama, Hadi, Doddi, Palya among others.
The land on which houses were built will also be transferred to the applicant with the condition that it shall not be sold for a period of 15 years from the date of receiving grant certificate.
Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa tabled the bill.
