Bio gas units installed at 29 Government Hostels in DK

Mangaluru: Around 29 Government hostels in the Dakshina Kannada district have installed Bio gas units.
The units were installed with the help of MRPL and Zilla Panchayats. The units will use kitchen waste to produce gas.
The unit was set up with the theme ‘Our Waste- Our Responsibility’ and is being carried out as a part of the cleanliness year 2018.
The units have been set up at 21 Social welfare department hostels, two ITDP hostels, two minority hostels and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan hostel by the CSR funds generated by MRPL at a cost of Rs.12.56 lakhs.
