BJP is a strong party: Rajnath Singh

Mangaluru: “BJP has become the biggest political party in the world. Every representative in the state has contributed to strengthen BJP,” said Union home minister Rajnath Singh peaking after inaugurating the convention of Shakti Kendra office-bearers here on Saturday, March 9.

“BJP is not an ordinary political party. It is a strong party now. In the year 1984 elections, BJP had only 2 seats in the Parliament. Then PM Rajiv Gandhi trolled BJP in the Parliament. After continuous efforts we attained clear majority in 2014,” he said.

“Among Pulwama attack martyrs, Guru is from Karnataka. We retaliated for the Pulwama attack and we gave a strong message that Pakistan will pay the price for encouraging terrorism and for attacking India,” said Mr Singh.

“Several Kashmiri students are studying across the country. We have asked the state governments to protect the Kashmiri students from the attacks and I appeal BJP representatives to stand with Kashmiri students as they belong to our country,” he appealed.

Lok Sabha election is around the corner. BJP will dominate the state by winning all 28 seats in upcoming elections. We retaliate for every attack on us the way we did in Uri and Pulwama attacks. We have a clear policy that we do not trouble anyone but those who trouble us will be taken care of. Nothing can stop us from destroying terrorists,” said the union home minister.

“Present Karnataka government is weak and the leaders are unhappy with each other. We will pledge here that we need a strong government in Karnataka. We want a government that delivers promises. Congress had promised to eradicate poverty and corruption but nothing has happened so far,” he said.

“Central government has introduced several schemes for the farmers. But the state government is not providing data of farmers to credit Rs 2000 each as first installment under Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Farmers’ loan has not been waived off in the state as the government never bothered about farmers,” he alleged.

“Your MP Nalin Kumar has demanded that separate Mangaluru railway division should be created. We will fulfill this promise if BJP comes to power,” he claimed.
