BJP leader jumps into rivulet from Udyavar Bridge

Udupi: A man reportedly jumped into a rivulet from Udyavar Bridge along NH 66 and committed suicide on Thursday morning April 22. The deceased has been identified as BJP leader named Ashok Ameen (38) from Udyavar.
According to eyewitnesses claim, Ameen came on his motorbike which he parked near the bridge and instantly jumped into the rivulet. The locals’ immediately informed Kaup police of the incident, who rushed to the spot and are presently searching for the man with assistance from the locals.
Locals inform that financial crises might have driven the youth to take the extreme step.
