Chikkaballapura: While Congress is continuing to express doubts over the longevity of the BJP government in Karnataka, BJP MLA BN Bache Gowda on Tuesday said that midterm polls to the State Assembly will never happen.
Addressing pressperson at an event organised by the district BJP youth wing to wish Prime Minister Modi on his 69th birthday, Bache Gowda said, Congress and JDS leaders are predicting midterm polls to the State Assembly but it will never happen. “BJP has a majority, will not allow the state to go for mid-term polls.”
He further said that as many as 103 taluks of 22 districts were affected by recent floods for which the state government has sought a relief of Rs 38,000 crore from the Centre and further urged the Central government to sanction 10,000 at the earliest to the state.
When questioned about Congress leader DK Shivakumar’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in money laundering case he denied speaking on the issue.
