Mangaluru: “BJP has created faith among people due to its administration,” said MP and state BJP president Nalin Kumar addressing the party representatives here at the BJP office on Wednesday, September 11.

“The party needs to be strengthened and lot of works need to be taken up. We have created the atmosphere where people have faith in BJP because of its administration. This is the golden age for us, as BJP is in power in both state and central. BJP even scrapped Article 370 after a long wait,” he claimed.

“BJP is the party which keeps up its words. In order to strengthen the party, in the year 2000, L K Advani had taken up Rath Yatra throughout the country. People put their faith in us and we lived up to the expectations of the people who voted for us.

“Being state president, I have visited 18 out of the 38 districts. With regards to the membership campaign, Bidar crossed over two lakh membership. B S Yeddyurappa became chief minister during the tough phase as the state was witnessing flood as well as drought. But B S Yeddyurappa led by example and tackled the flood situation in the state successfully like no other chief minister in the state.

“The chief minister, during his visit to Belthangady, announced funds of Rs 10 lakh to those who lost their house, Rs 10,000 every month for expenses and Rs 5,000 by way of rent for the house. Cheques have already been distributed throughout the state.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced several programmes. On the eve of Narendra Modi’s birthday, BJP will observe Seva Saptaha from September 14 to 20. In this Seva Saptaha focus will be on making the country plastic free, water conservation and saving environment. On the eve of Mahatama Gandhi’s 150th birthday there will be walkathon for 150 km in every constituency. In the name of Gandhi, Congress did vote bank politics but we will follow his ideologies. During the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, there will be speeches about him, saplings will be planted and focus will be on cleanliness.”

Speaking on the occasion, district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said, “We have maintained transparency in our administration. Siddaramaiah and Kumaraswamy are criticizing the BJP about not getting funds released from the central government for floods. We should hear their criticism as opposition has no other way than criticizing the government. We should be aware that the central government will release huge funds for the state and lend a helping hand to the people of the state.”
