B’luru: Caller dupes woman saying she won Rs 25L KBC lottery

Bengaluru: In yet another case of cyber fraud, a caller tricked a Bengaluru woman to believe that she had won Rs 25 lakh as a reward under Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) lottery and duped her of Rs 55,000.

The victim, Saroj Kumari, a resident of Wilson Garden filed a complaint with cyber police in this regard.

In her complaint, Saroj said that she got a call from a man who identified himself as Thana Pratap Singh to inform her that she had won Rs 25 lakh KBC lottery.

He asked her to transfer Rs 55,000 as fee money in order to claim the reward money between May 13-18.

The police registered a case and the investigation is ongoing.
