B’luru man meets watery grave in Shambhavi river, 2 others rescued

Moodbidri: In a tragic incident, a 32-year-old youth from Bengaluru drowned in Shambhavi river at Karnire near Kinnigoli here on Sunday, September 6.

The deceased Anil and six of his friends had arrived on a tour of the coastal district.

The incident occurred when three of the friends, including Anil ventured into the river for a swim. The trio was pulled in by the strong currents.

Seeing them in trouble, nearby locals rushed to their rescue. While they managed to save life of two of the youths, Anil’s life could not be saved.

A case has been registered at Mulky police station.
