Bengaluru: Police arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly trying to murder the human resource manager of the defense firm where he was previously employed.

The accused Madhu, a resident of KR Puram was sacked from his job for breaching the company rules by taking his mobile phone into the work area and using it to make videos. A notice was served to Madhu for breach of rules and an explanation was sought from him. As Madhu did not reply to the notice he was terminated from the job.

He however suspected that Rajashekhar Rai, HR manager at a private firm located in the KIADB Aerospace Park near Bagalur here played a role in his termination and thus wanted to settle scores with him.

Madhu teamed up with his friends and they conspired to kill Rai. On March 8 evening, the gang intercepted Rai’s car at BK Palya Cross near Bagalur and tried to launch a deadly assault but Rai’s driver put the vehicle in reverse gear and drove off from the scene.

The gang began chasing the vehicle but backtracked upon seeing the car pull up in front of the police station. Rai filed a complaint with the police. He said that he did not know his assailants but suspected Madhu as he was sacked from the firm two months earlier.

Meanwhile, Madhu and his friends lay in wait for Rai outside his residence. However, as they had been drinking they fell asleep in the car before Rai’s arrival. They later dropped their plans.

Police investigating the case traced and arrested Madhu from his native village of Sadahalli near Sidlaghatta, Chikkaballapur district, while the other suspects were apprehended from Puducherry.
