B’luru: Nepalese couple hired as domestic help tie, rob elderly woman

A couple of Nepalese-origin, hired as domestic help at a house here, tied and robbed a home-alone elderly woman at JB Nagar here.
The woman Manjula (61) sustained injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment at a hospital. A complaint in this regard was filed by her son Vinod.
The accused couple Pratap and his wife Sangeeta had been hired as a security guard and domestic help respectively at the house around 1.5 months ago when they approached Vinod seeking employment.
The incident took place when Vinod had gone out on a business-related trip. His mother was alone at home and taking advantage of this the couple with help from two other people tied her up, stole the cupboard keys and decamped with Rs 10 lakh in cash, gold ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh.
The accused couple was also aware that there was no CCTV camera in the house. Police have launched a search for the accused.
