Bengaluru: Police have solved the murder of a 55-year-old woman in Kattigenahalli village near Yelahanka and arrested a quack doctor for the crime.
The accused, Saleem was nabbed in Patna in Bihar, reports said.
For the past 25 years, Saleem has lived in Bengaluru, claiming himself to be a ‘naati vaidya’ (traditional herbal healer). The deceased woman, Siddamma, was one of his patients, reports said.
The murder occurred on Thursday at the quack’s house but came to light only when another woman came to visit him. Saleem allegedly strangled the victim to death and fled with the valuables on her person.
A TNN report quoted a police officer saying that Saleem and Siddamma had become close and he had borrowed some cash from her as a loan. It is suspected that she might have gone to his residence to ask for her money.
