Boy dies in Sureban relief camp, CM announces 5 lakh compensation

Belagavi: A boy reportedly died due to high fever at a flood-relief centre in Sureban village of Belagavi on Tuesday.
The deceased is identified as Abdul Saab (5).
Following the incident, the family members alleged that the boy died due to lack of facilities and medical care in the relief centre.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner SB Bommanahalli informed that he has order probe into the issue and also promised that strict action against negligent officers.
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, who Belagavi to visit flood-affected areas and to take stock of the operations undertaken to provide relief to the flood victims in the district announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of deceased and also informed that he will be visiting the relief centre where the tragedy took place and will collect information on the cause of death.
