Boy who was riding bicycle killed after JCB runs over him

Kanyana: A boy was killed after a JCB ran over him while he was riding a bicycle in Kaniyooru of Kanyana.

The deceased is identified as Mohammed Akhil, son of Hasainaar, a resident of Kaniyoor.

The JCB driver who was said to be in an inebriated state ran over the boy while he riding his bicycle. Due to the impact of the accident, the boy was killed on the spot.

Following the accident, the JCB driver, Sadiq, who hailed from Gadag removed the body of the boy using the hook of his vehicle and went on ahead, as usual, to attend to his work.

After learning about the incident the villagers took the driver to task and handed him over to the Vitla police.
