Brahmagiri landslide: Narayan Achar’s body recovered

Madikeri: Natural Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team who have been working strenuously to find out the people who went missing after Brahmagiri hill suffered a landslide and came crashing on their house, recovered the chief priest of Tala Kaveri, Narayan Achar body on Tuesday, August 11.

Today morning a Renault Duster and a Maruti Omni van, both of which reportedly belonged to Achar, were found. Both cars have been completely mangled.

The search operations for three other stuck under the mud has now intensified. The operations are being conducted by the National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force.

During Monday’s operation, utensils, pooja, and clothes from the house of Achar’s were found. Achar’s daughters, who were living abroad, had arrived on the same day.

Talakaveri temple priest Narayana Achar, his wife Santha, his brother Ananda Theertha and assistant priests Ravikiran and Srinivas are missing since the landslides. Ananda Theertha’s body was found on Saturday. Search operation for the remaining four is underway.
