BSY calls for state wide agitation in support of sugarcane cultivators

Bengaluru: Extending support to the agitating sugarcane cultivators the state BJP wing has called for a protest in Karnataka on Wednesday, November 21 against the state government.

Addressing media persons, BJP state wing president BS Yeddyurappa, warned of a state-wide agitation by gathering lakhs of farmers if their demands were not met.  

Launching a scathing attack on the coalition government and CM Kumaraswamy Yeddyurappa said, “The BJP government in Maharashtra is giving sugarcane growers a price Rs 2900 and Rs 200 support price. Whereas Gujarat government is giving Rs 3,200 to 4,200 Fair and Remunerative (FRP) to the sugarcane cultivators,” he informed.
