Mangaluru: In a precautionary measure the city police have deployed police personnel in and around surrounding areas at Nehru Maidan here.

Four battalions of RAF and over 800 KSRP police personnel are deployed at the spot

The Muslim Central Committee had planned to hold a protest at the venue against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) on January 4.

However, the protest was postponed after police denied permission citing that Nehru Maidan was not a suitable venue for massive gatherings.
