Bengaluru: Independent MLAs – R Shankar and H Nagesh were on Friday sworn in as cabinet-rank ministers in the Kumaraswamy government.

Governor Vajubhai Vala administered the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan.

Though the move aimed to give stability to the 13-month-old wobbly government, KPCC President Dinesh Gundurao and JD(S) President H Vishwanath were conspicuous by their absence at the oath-taking ceremony.

Meanwhile senior Congress leader and former Minister Ramalinga Reddy who has openly expressed his resentment against the government too gave the ceremony a miss.
