Centre releases Rs 629 cr as relief for flood-affected families in Karnataka

Bengaluru: The Central government released Rs 629 crores to the State as relief for the people affected by floods in 2020.
The amount was released from the National Disaster Response Fund.
A note from the Union Finance Ministry said that the money is being released as relief for flood-affected and landslide-hit areas in several parts of the State last year.
The note added that the funds release will be governed by the existing guidelines and rules of SDRF/NDRF.
Many parts of Karnataka were hit by landslides and floods last year due to heavy rains causing crores in damages to property.
